I made this quilt for my son when he was 12; he picked out most of the fabrics from swatches. For the first time I used paper piecing on a large scale and loved it. Arranging the colors and shading to create a secondary design were my main creative challenges. I call the quilt Harmony Hill because that was the name of the dairy farm on which I grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and the colors remind me of the earth, grass, sky, and red barns there.
